13-Year-Old Accused of Carjacking in Hickory Hill

Authorities have apprehended a 13-year-old boy and charged him with carjacking after an incident in Hickory Hill.

The incident occurred on Monday, May 1, 2023 at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Kirby.

According to Memphis Police, a male victim was sitting in his car when the suspect approached and demanded the keys. The victim refused, and the suspect allegedly displayed a weapon.

The victim exited the vehicle, and the suspect entered the car and fled the scene.

The suspect was later apprehended by police and taken into custody. He has been charged with carjacking and is currently being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
