Caldwell and Burleson County Residents Gather for Annual Events
Ceremonies Across the County Remember Veterans' Service and Sacrifice
Burleson County came together on Veterans Day, November 11, 2023, to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country. From Caldwell to Burleson County, ceremonies and events were held to pay tribute to local veterans.
In Caldwell, the annual Veterans Day parade stepped off at 10 a.m. from the Burleson County Courthouse and proceeded down Main Street. The parade featured local veterans and their families, as well as local businesses and organizations.
Following the parade, a ceremony was held at the Burleson County Courthouse. The ceremony included speeches from local officials and veterans, as well as a wreath-laying ceremony. Caldwell Mayor Gene Pasket told the crowd that "we are here today to honor the brave men and women who have served our country" and that "we are eternally grateful for their service and sacrifice."
In Burleson County, a Veterans Day ceremony was held at the Burleson County Veterans Memorial. The ceremony included a speech from Burleson County Judge Mike Sutherland and a wreath-laying ceremony. Sutherland said that "Veterans Day is a day when we remember the brave men and women who have fought for our country" and that "we are forever indebted to their service and sacrifice."
In addition to the parade and ceremonies, several other events were held throughout Burleson County to honor veterans. The American Legion Post 145 in Caldwell hosted a breakfast for local veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4431 in Burleson County hosted a luncheon for veterans and their families.
Veterans Day is a time to come together as a community to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country. From Caldwell to Burleson County, the events held on November 11, 2023, were a fitting tribute to local veterans and their families.
