Glen Powell, the internet's Sexiest Man Alive

The actor has been crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2022.

Glen Powell has been named People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2022. The actor, who is known for his roles in "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Devotion," was announced as the winner on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday night.

Powell, 33, is the first actor to be named Sexiest Man Alive since Idris Elba in 2018.

Powell said he was "honored" to be named Sexiest Man Alive.

"I'm not going to lie, it feels pretty good," he said. "I'm a big believer in manifestation, and I've been saying for years that I wanted to be Sexiest Man Alive."

Powell said he thinks he was chosen for the honor because he is "relatable."

"I'm not the most handsome guy in the world," he said. "But I think I'm a pretty good guy, and I think that's what people are attracted to."

Powell is the second actor in the "Top Gun" franchise to be named Sexiest Man Alive.

Tom Cruise, who played Maverick in the original 1986 film, was named Sexiest Man Alive in 1990.

Powell said he hopes to use his title to help others.

"I want to use this platform to talk about things that are important to me, like mental health and body positivity," he said.

Powell is currently starring in the film "Devotion."

The film, which is based on the true story of two Navy fighter pilots during the Korean War, is set to be released on November 23.

Powell is also set to star in the upcoming film "Renfield," which is a comedy-horror film about Dracula's familiar.
