Hawaii: Ex-serviceman killed in Pāhoa shooting

Hawaii Island police are investigating a shooting in Pāhoa that left one man dead on Wednesday evening.
According to police, officers responded to a call of shots fired at a residence on 16th Avenue at around 6:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 60-year-old male victim, later identified as Army veteran James Francis, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Francis was transported to the Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have classified the incident as a murder and are actively investigating.
No arrests have been made at this time.
