Metro East to host 3 parades, ceremonies and other events on Veterans Day

Metro East residents are invited to attend several Veterans Day events in the area to honor those who served.

Three parades, ceremonies and other events are planned in the Metro East on Friday. Check out more information on how to attend below:

Granite City Veterans Day Parade
- 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11
- Parade starts at the Jerome Center, 2600 Nameoki Rd., Granite City and proceeds west on Nameoki Road to Niedringhaus.
- The parade will feature veterans’ organizations, local dignitaries and community groups.
- Spectators can line up along Nameoki Road to watch the parade.

Collinsville Veterans Day Parade - 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11
- The parade will be held in downtown Collinsville.
- The parade will feature floats, bands, veterans and other groups.
- Spectators can line up along Main Street to watch the parade.

Edwardsville Veterans Day Ceremony
- 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11
- Leclaire Park, 101 S. Buchanan St., Edwardsville
- The ceremony will remember those who served in the military.
- The ceremony will feature a guest speaker, music and a wreath-laying ceremony.
- The public is invited to attend the ceremony.

Glen Carbon Veterans Day Ceremony
- 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11
- Glen Carbon Village Hall, 151 N. Main St., Glen Carbon
- The ceremony will honor veterans who served in the military.
- The ceremony will include a flag-raising ceremony, a reading of the names of local veterans and a speech from a local veteran.
- The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
