Jon M. Chu Misses ‘Wicked’ LA Premiere For Birth Of Baby Daughter – Update

Jon M. Chu Shares First Photo Of Newborn Daughter Willow

Congratulations are in order for Jon M. Chu and his wife Kristin Hodge who welcomed a daughter on November 15th. The baby girl was given the name Willow Paloma Chu. Along with a photo he shared on Instagram, the new father writes: “Lil Willow Paloma Chu is here and she’s doing great! Her mother is a warrior!…I missed the ‘Wicked’ premiere to welcome her into the world. But I can’t wait to see the movie when I’m holding my little angel!”

The couple have been together since they were teenagers and married in 2009. They already have three other children - two daughters and a son. Kristin is the owner of the hair extension company Halo Couture.

About The Movie

Jon is the director of the new musical film called Wicked. After directing the film adaptation of In The Heights last summer, he is at the helm of another big-budget production. A prequel to the beloved musical of the same name, this movie tells the story of Elphaba and Glinda, two witches who come together to fight for what is right. The film stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and Bowen Yang.

The movie was originally scheduled to be released in November 2021, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now set to be released on November 22, 2023.
