Malik Washington scores first career touchdown, Dolphins lead 7-0

Miami Dolphins rookie running back Malik Washington scored his first career touchdown in the first quarter against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Washington took a handoff from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and ran for a 10-yard touchdown, giving the Dolphins an early 7-0 lead.

The touchdown was the first of Washington's career, who was drafted by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Washington has been a bright spot for the Dolphins this season, averaging 4.5 yards per carry and scoring two touchdowns in his first three games.

The Dolphins are now 2-1 on the season, while the Jets are 0-3.

The Dolphins will look to continue their winning ways next week when they host the Cincinnati Bengals, while the Jets will look to get their first win of the season when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
