Miami Dolphins defeat the New England Patriots 20-7
The Miami Dolphins defeated the New England Patriots 20-7 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns, and the Dolphins' defense held the Patriots to just 259 yards of offense.
The Dolphins took an early lead in the game when Tagovailoa connected with Jaylen Waddle on a 42-yard touchdown pass. The Patriots answered back with a field goal, but the Dolphins extended their lead to 14-3 with a touchdown run by Raheem Mostert in the second quarter.
The Patriots cut the lead to 14-7 with a touchdown pass from Mac Jones to Jakobi Meyers in the third quarter, but the Dolphins' defense held strong in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
The win was the Dolphins' first against the Patriots since 2019. It also snapped a three-game losing streak for the Dolphins.
The Dolphins improved to 4-3 on the season, while the Patriots fell to 3-4.
