NCMC and Area Schools to Host Veterans Day Events
Northeastern Michigan Colleges (NCMC) and area schools will host several events to honor veterans on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11.
NCMC Events
NCMC will host a Veterans Day breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. in the University Center Great Lakes Rooms. The event is free and open to all veterans, active-duty military members, and their families.
The college will also hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. in the Little Bear Arena. The ceremony will feature remarks from NCMC President Dr. Steve Witt, a performance by the NCMC choir, and a presentation of the colors by the NCMC ROTC program.
Area School Events
Several area schools will also host Veterans Day events. Alpena High School will host a Veterans Day assembly at 9 a.m. in the high school auditorium. The assembly will feature remarks from Alpena High School Principal Dr. John Buchler, a performance by the Alpena High School choir, and a presentation of the colors by the Alpena High School ROTC program.
Presque Isle High School will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. in the high school gym. The ceremony will feature remarks from Presque Isle High School Principal Dr. Kevin Jermyn, a performance by the Presque Isle High School band, and a presentation of the colors by the Presque Isle High School JROTC program.
Rogers City High School will host a Veterans Day assembly at 11 a.m. in the high school auditorium. The assembly will feature remarks from Rogers City High School Principal Dr. Chad Sorensen, a performance by the Rogers City High School choir, and a presentation of the colors by the Rogers City High School JROTC program.
All community members are invited to attend these events and show their support for our veterans.
