Two of the nation's top teams in the Football Championship Subdivision will meet Saturday when No. 3 North Dakota State travels to No. 5 California State University, Bakersfield.
The Bison are coming off a 47-14 win over Valparaiso in their season opener, while the Roadrunners are 1-0 after a 45-13 victory over Sacramento State.
NDSU has won three of the last five FCS national championships and has reached the title game in seven of the last eight years.
The Bison are led by quarterback Trey Lance, who is considered one of the top prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lance threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Valparaiso.
The Roadrunners are led by quarterback Jake Haener, who threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Sacramento State.
Haener is a transfer from Washington and is in his first season with CSU Bakersfield.
The Roadrunners are looking to reach the FCS playoffs for the first time since 2016.
The game will be televised on ESPN+.
