Amber Alert Canceled, Missing Child Found Safe in Medina County, Suspect Dead, Medina County Sheriff’s Office Confirms
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office reported that the abducted child in the statewide Amber Alert has been found and the suspect is deceased after a massive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
Around 5:30 p.m., the Medina County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that the child had been located safely in Medina County, Ohio. The sheriff’s office extended its gratitude to the public for their assistance in helping to locate the child.
According to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect in the Amber Alert, identified as 32-year-old William Henry Holt, was found deceased. No other details about the suspect’s death have been released. The sheriff's office did not disclose the cause or location of Holt’s death.
The child was taken from their home overnight and brought to the suspect’s residence in Medina County, roughly 30 miles south of Cleveland. The child’s mother immediately reported her child as missing and an Amber Alert was issued.
The Amber Alert was canceled just hours later when the child was found safe. The child is currently being evaluated by medical personnel.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s disappearance and the suspect’s death is ongoing.
