Oregon Veterans to Get Early Health Screenings
Ex-servicemen and women living in Oregon will have access to free health screenings and resources at a health fair on April 8.
The fair will be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open to all veterans, regardless of age or discharge status.
The fair will offer a variety of health screenings, including:
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol
- Blood sugar
- Body mass index
- Hearing
- Dental
- Vision
The fair will also have representatives from several organizations that provide resources to veterans, including:
- The Veterans Health Administration
- The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs
- The American Legion
- The Veterans of Foreign Wars
- The Disabled American Veterans
"We want to make sure that Oregon veterans are getting the health care they need," said Dan McLane, director of the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs.
"This fair is a great opportunity for veterans to get screened for health problems that may be preventable or treatable if caught early.
