South Africa v India: Sanju Samson's second consecutive T20 international century secures emphatic victory in Durban
Samson smashes his way to another ton
Sanju Samson continued his impressive form with the bat, scoring his second consecutive T20 international century to help India secure an emphatic victory over South Africa in Durban. The right-hander struck an unbeaten 129 off just 62 balls, including 10 fours and 7 sixes, as India chased down South Africa's total of 211 with ease.
India dominate from the start
India were in control of the match from the outset, with the bowlers restricting South Africa to a below-par total. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/35, while Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel also picked up two wickets each.
In reply, India made a brisk start, with Samson and Ishan Kishan putting on 50 for the first wicket in just 5 overs. Samson then took control of the innings, smashing the South African bowlers to all parts of the ground. He brought up his century in just 56 balls, and continued to punish the bowling until the end.
South Africa's bowlers struggle
South Africa's bowlers struggled to contain Samson, who was in imperious form. The left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the most expensive bowler, conceding 52 runs in his 4 overs, while the pace bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje also went for plenty.
India level series
The victory levels the three-match series at 1-1, with the decider to be played in Rajkot on Sunday. Samson will be hoping to continue his good form and help India clinch the series.
