SpaceX scrubs Cape Canaveral launch after second attempt
After two scrubs due to technical issues, SpaceX has postponed its planned launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The launch, which was initially scheduled for Tuesday, has now been pushed back to Wednesday at the earliest.
SpaceX began fueling the Falcon 9 rocket Monday afternoon in preparation for a planned 6:11 p.m. liftoff, but scrubbed the launch attempt due to a technical issue with the rocket's second stage.
Teams worked to resolve the issue overnight, but the launch was again scrubbed Tuesday afternoon due to a separate technical issue, this time with the rocket's ground systems.
SpaceX has not yet announced a new launch date, but the company typically tries to launch again within 24 hours of a scrub.
When it does launch, the Falcon 9 rocket will carry a Dragon cargo spacecraft filled with supplies and experiments to the International Space Station.
The launch will be SpaceX's 26th of the year and its 10th from Cape Canaveral.
SpaceX is targeting a launch window from 12:38 p.m. to 2:27 p.m. ET Wednesday, but the launch could be delayed again due to weather or technical issues.
