Veterans Day 2024 in Baton Rouge and Lafayette
Commemorating the Service and Sacrifice of Our Veterans
Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice to our country. This year, Veterans Day falls on Monday, November 11, 2024. There will be several events held in the Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas to commemorate the day.
Baton Rouge Events
The Baton Rouge Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10:00 AM on November 11, 2024. The parade will start at the corner of Third Street and North Boulevard and will proceed down Third Street to the State Capitol. The parade will feature veterans, military units, marching bands, and floats.
The Louisiana State University Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on November 11, 2024, at the LSU War Memorial Tower. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying ceremony, a speech by a guest speaker, and a performance by the LSU ROTC Color Guard.
Lafayette Events
The Lafayette Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10:00 AM on November 11, 2024. The parade will start at the corner of Main Street and Lee Avenue and will proceed down Main Street to the Lafayette Parish Courthouse. The parade will feature veterans, military units, marching bands, and floats.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on November 11, 2024, at the UL Lafayette Student Union. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying ceremony, a speech by a guest speaker, and a performance by the UL Lafayette ROTC Color Guard.
Other Acadiana Events
In addition to the events in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, there will be several other Veterans Day events held throughout Acadiana. These events include:
- The Eunice Veterans Day Parade will be held at 10:00 AM on November 11, 2024.
- The Opelousas Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on November 11, 2024, at the Opelousas Civic Center.
- The Crowley Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on November 11, 2024, at the Crowley City Hall.
