Veterans Day observances planned around Valley
Events to honor military veterans set throughout the region
Local ceremonies, parades and other events are planned on Friday
Memorial Day is a time to remember those who have served, and this year there are several events planned around the Valley to honor veterans.
On Friday, November 11, there will be ceremonies at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in downtown Phoenix, as well as at the Arizona State Capitol. There will also be a parade in downtown Phoenix, and a number of other events are planned throughout the Valley.
The following is a list of some of the events planned for Veterans Day 2022:
- Vietnam Veterans Memorial Ceremony: 10 a.m. at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 1445 W. Washington St., Phoenix.
- Arizona State Capitol Ceremony: 11 a.m. at the Arizona State Capitol, 1700 W. Washington St., Phoenix.
- Downtown Phoenix Veterans Day Parade: 11 a.m. along Central Avenue in downtown Phoenix.
- American Legion Post 44 Surprise Veterans Day Event: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at American Legion Post 44, 14864 W. Bell Road, Surprise.
- Fountain Hills Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center, 12925 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.
- Peoria Veterans Day Ceremony: 10 a.m. at the Peoria Veterans Memorial, 8355 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria.
- Scottsdale Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m. at the Scottsdale Civic Center, 3939 N. Civic Center Plaza, Scottsdale.
- Tempe Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m. at the Tempe Veterans Memorial, 401 Mill Ave., Tempe.
