Veterans invite the public to celebrate Veteran's Day with them
Veterans Day is a time to honor all who have served our country with parades honoring veterans.
Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, to honor military veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day which are celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (known as the Great War at the time and commemorated in the United States as Armistice Day). In many parts of the world, these Remembrance Day services occur near war memorials.
Veterans Day is a day to reflect on the sacrifices that our veterans have made for our country.
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs is responsible for coordinating Veterans Day activities. In addition to the national Veterans Day parade held in Washington, D.C., numerous communities across the country host their own parades, ceremonies, and other events to honor veterans. Many veterans service organizations, such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans, also hold events on or around Veterans Day to honor their members and the service of all veterans.
Veterans Day is a day to show our appreciation for our veterans.
Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States, and many businesses and schools are closed on this day. Many people choose to spend Veterans Day by attending a parade or ceremony, visiting a veterans memorial, or simply taking some time to reflect on the sacrifices that our veterans have made. There are many ways to show appreciation to our veterans. One way is to simply thank a veteran for their service. Another way is to volunteer your time at a veterans’ organization. You can also donate to a veterans’ charity.
