Mountaineers move up six spots after win over Virginia
West Virginia moved up six spots to No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Sunday after a 31-24 win over Virginia on Saturday.
The Mountaineers (2-0) received 1,026 points in the poll, which is voted on by a panel of 62 sportswriters and broadcasters.
West Virginia's win over Virginia was its first victory over a Power Five opponent since 2019.
The Mountaineers will host Kansas on Saturday in their home opener.

- No. 11 Oklahoma State

The AP Poll is a weekly ranking of the top 25 college football teams in the country.
The poll is used to determine the College Football Playoff rankings, which are used to select the four teams that will compete in the College Football Playoff.
West Virginia has never been ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll.
The Mountaineers' highest ranking in the AP Poll was No. 11 in 2018.
West Virginia is one of three Big 12 teams ranked in the top 15 of the AP Poll.
Oklahoma is ranked No. 4, and Baylor is ranked No. 6.
The Big 12 is one of the strongest conferences in college football.
The conference has had at least one team in the College Football Playoff every year since the playoff began in 2014.
