Early Life and Education
Patel was born in New York City in 1980 and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
Patel graduated from Ohio State University in 2002 with a degree in political science. He then earned a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2005.
Patel also holds a master's degree in international relations from the University of Cambridge, which he earned in 2007 as a Marshall Scholar.
Career
After graduating from law school, Patel worked as an attorney at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Washington, D.C.
In 2011, Patel joined the House Intelligence Committee staff as a senior counterterrorism adviser.
