'Wicked' Director Jon M. Chu Reveals Name of Baby Daughter After Missing Film's LA Premiere for Her Birth
A New Tiny Star has Entered in Chu’s Life
As reported by Entertainment Tonight, "Wicked" director Jon. M. Chu missed the Los Angeles premiere of the highly anticipated movie musical to welcome his second child, a baby girl, into the world. The filmmaker shared the news via his Instagram account on Monday (Nov. 28), posting a photo of his wife Kristin Hodge holding their newborn daughter.
The Birth of a New Star
"I missed the LA premiere of @wickedmovie last night because we welcomed our second daughter into the world!!!" he wrote in his caption. "She's healthy, happy, and has a full head of hair (just like her big sister Nova!)." The director went on to reveal the name of his newborn daughter: Willow Cove Chu. "We're all so in love with her," he added.
The Future of Chu's Career
Chu also expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew of "Wicked" for understanding his decision to miss the premiere. "Huge THANK YOU to our @wickedmovie family for letting me be a part of this film. It means the world to me," he wrote. Despite missing the premiere, Chu is still set to attend the film's New York City premiere on Thursday (Dec. 1).
