WW1 Museum and Memorial Tells Veteran's Stories Through New Displays, Ceremony
Honoring the Heroes
The National World War I Museum and Memorial will explore the service and sacrifice of American veterans with two special programs this Veterans Day weekend, November 11-13, 2023.
New WWI Collection Display
The museum will debut a new display of artifacts and documents from the Great War, including uniforms, weapons, and personal belongings of American soldiers. The exhibit will highlight the challenges and triumphs of the men who fought in the trenches of France and Belgium.
Memorial Ceremony
On Saturday, November 12, the museum will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony, featuring a keynote address by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy. The ceremony will include a wreath-laying, a moment of silence, and a performance by the Kansas City Chorale.
Honoring All Who Served
“We are honored to present these special programs to recognize the service and sacrifice of all who have served our country,” said museum president and CEO Matthew Naylor. “These events are a reminder of the importance of remembering and honoring the legacy of the men and women who fought in the Great War.”
Museum Hours and Admission
The museum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults, $12 for seniors (65+), $10 for students (13-18), and free for children 12 and under.
