Bakersfield's Shakur Daniel’s Leads Roadrunners to 87-79 Victory over the Bison
Roadrunners Win Fifth Straight Game
'Runners Improve To 7-1 In The WAC
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Shakur Daniel led four Roadrunners in double figures with a game-high 20 points as the CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team earned its fifth consecutive victory, defeating North Dakota State 87-79 Thursday night at the Icardo Center.
Daniel scored 10 of his points in the second half as CSUB outscored NDSU 48-37 after the break to improve to 7-1 in Western Athletic Conference play and 10-11 overall.
Daniel's effort was complemented by a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double from Justin McCall, who also dished out a game-high five assists. Jarkel Joiner and Isaiah Austin rounded out the 'Runners in double figures with 17 and 14 points, respectively.
CSUB connected on 51.9 percent of its shots from the field, including 11-of-25 from 3-point range. The Roadrunners also dominated the rebounding battle, outrebounding the Bison 36-27, including 12 offensive boards.
NDSU (10-11, 2-6 WAC) was led by Grant Nelson's 19 points
The Roadrunners return to action Saturday night when they host Sacramento State at the Icardo Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
