Adams Sets Career-Highs: 28 Points, 25 Rebounds
In a game marred by foul trouble, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights emerged victorious over the NJIT Highlanders, 74-65, behind a career-game from Destiny Adams. Adams, a 6'4" senior center, dominated the paint, setting new career-highs with 28 points and 25 rebounds.
The game was a physical affair, with both teams combining for 52 fouls. Rutgers, however, found a way to overcome the adversity, shooting 60% from the free-throw line compared to NJIT's 45%. Additionally, the Scarlet Knights were able to control the glass, outrebounding the Highlanders 54-37.
In addition to Adams' impressive performance, Arella Guirantes added 15 points and 9 rebounds for Rutgers, while Stasha Carey chipped in with 11 points off the bench. For NJIT, Lyric Turner led the way with 18 points, while Kenna Squier added 15 points and 8 rebounds.
